About the Author
Katie Chudy began her blog, The Small Boston Kitchen, in 2009 and attended the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in 2011. Upon receiving her Culinary Certificate, she opened The Skinny Beet, a boutique personal chef and catering company that services the Greater Boston Area. She and her husband Richard also teach cooking classes at the Boston Center for Adult Education as well as private cooking lessons.
Katie is also a food writer and photographer. She is best known for her work with Eater Boston and her recipes and photos have been featured in Boston.com and Boston magazine as well as PBS Food and The Huffington Post. Katie has also appeared in a Cooking Channel commercial and has done cooking videos for Cambridge-based company how2heros. In addition to her writing, Katie co-hosts The Skinny Beet Dinner Party, a podcast featuring people in the local food industry. She lives with her husband in Newtonville, MA.

The deeper into the book you go, the more you learn, the more your tastebuds are tantalized, and the more you question "why has it taken me so long to start eating like this!"Indulgent, fresh, seasonal, smart recipes that can be introduced into anyone's diet. Not that this is "diet food," solid nutrition is just a super awesome added benefit to the ideas in Superfood Sandwiches. This book demystifies those specialty ingredients you've heard about. You find out how to use them, and that, in fact, they are available at most of the stores where you already shop!My favorite sandwich recipes are the Grilled Pineapple Avocado, and especially the Steak and Roasted Strawberry. O M G! It tastes like summer on a roll, a sub roll! The Roasted Strawberry Balsamic Steak Sauce raises the sandwich to heavenly levels.And that brings me to one of my favorite sections of the book... Condiments! I know it's strange to sing the praises of condiments in a sandwich book, but these conceptual, creative ideas are not to be overlooked. Their use stretching far beyond sandwiches. Rosemary Hard Cider Apple Butter... I mean, really!? What WOULDN'T that be good on!?Don't miss getting your copy of Superfood Sandwiches!

Gorgeous photos combined with delicious recipes clearly crafted with love abound in this book By Michael S Robertson Gorgeous photos combined with delicious recipes clearly crafted with love abound in this book. The Cocoa-Orange Steak Sandwich is a fresh take on the traditional steak sandwich, tasting hearty, light and fresh all at the same time. We substituted goat's milk yogurt for the Greek Yogurt to make it lactose-free, which came out great and resulted in some extra tang to compliment the orange zest flavor. The recipe for the veggie burger sounds so good it's convinced a devout meat-eater like myself to give it a shot. Mixed in with the sandwich recipes are recipes for sides/toppings that could go on anything, like the Strawberry-Balsamic Steak Sauce. Next up on my list to make, after the veggie burger? The Buffalo Brussels Sprouts sandwich.In short, Superfood Sandwiches is chock full of tasty, simple-but-clever recipes that will give you plenty to cook this summer. These aren't the same old recipes you read over and over again on Epicurious, in fact you won't find anything like them online. So, do yourself a favor and get an honest-to-goodness, physical cookbook, and make it this cookbook.

By Sara This book takes all of my favorites foods (avocados, sweet potatoes, and cranberries to name just a few) and gives me tons of new ideas for how to incorporate them even more into every meal. I had never made my own bread before, but I tried the cayenne maple sweet potato biscuits last week for my son's birthday party, and they were a total success--really easy and fun to make. My kids took a coffee cup and cut all the dough. I paired them with the red onion cranberry tarragon jam, which was a hit, and I've used the jam with three other dishes since. It's a first for me to not buy this stuff but to make it myself; I love it. Next on my list is the parmesan kale bread. The recipes are user-friendly and easy to follow; I love that each sandwich has only a handful of ingredients, so nothing feels overwhelming, yet each ingredient packs such a punch that I feel good about everything I'm putting in. My book is full of post-its already!
