About the Author Jane Olmsted's poems and stories have appeared in Nimrod, Poetry Northwest, The Beloit Fiction Journal, Adirondack Review, and Briar Cliff Review, among others. Her chapbook Tree Forms, was published in 2011 (Finishing Line Press). Her essay The Weight of a Human Heart won Memoir Journal s prize for the guns issue, Fall 2013. Her short story cycle Letters from the Karst is in search of a publisher.
Olmsted is professor and head of the Diversity & Community Studies department at Western Kentucky, where she teaches graduate courses in Black Feminism & the Politics of Community, Utopias, Dystopias & Intentional Communities, and Place & the Problem of Healing. She lives in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Amazingly honest and so evocative! This collection will last. It is meant to be read and reread as we feel and appreciate the poet's passion, poetic power and deep love for her murdered son. The three sections are varied and various but resonate forming an artistic whole. You will grieve with Jane Olmsted while you marvel at her creativity, her pure, sure poetry.
