From the Author If you love the idea of meditating sloths and hippos doing yoga in flower pants, I wrote this book for you. One of my dear teachers in India told me I need to bring the "real yoga" back to the U.S. There are many forms of yoga, and this book covers the traditional yogic practices from India in a way that I hope inspires adults and tickles the imagination of kiddos.A friend of mine was struggling to find a way to get her two year-old interested in yoga. After reading this book together, her little girl insisted on going to bed with her yoga mat. For me, there's no greater win than inspiring kids to have a healthy lifestyle without forcing or coercing them. Yoga is a universal practice. This integration of proper breathing, meditation and physical exercise has numerous psychological and physiological benefits. In fact, many studies have documented how yoga can be more effective than prescription drugs in battling anxiety and depression. For us to be the fullest expression of ourselves, and for our children to realize the beauty they contain within requires an integrated felt experience of the mind-body connection.I hope that this is a resource that provides your family or classroom with inspired techniques to make yoga a fun way to bond, connect, and go within. There's no greater gift than to teach the next generation techniques and methods to shine their light, live healthy, happy and vibrant lives.

By LottieLoves1 Such a beautiful book and the perfect start to any child (or adult's!) yoga practice. I have recently introduced my children (aged 9 and 12) to yoga and they are loving it, and they are already benefiting from it in so many ways. This is the perfect accompaniment to their practice. This book is beautifully illustrated as well as incredibly informative, making it accessible to children of all ages, and such a great book to share as it also includes beautiful quotes and lots of information that is helpful to adults too. I like this book so much that I've ordered two more copies for my son's elementary teachers as I know they'll find it a great addition to their classroom libraries.

By Yoga Mom I've practiced yoga for more than a decade and my kids (6 and 4) have tried a few poses with me over the years. When we read this book, they identified the poses, and we were able to do some of them together. The illustrations are beautiful and the thoughtful quotes and questions provided a great base for meaningful discussions around being kind to yourself and others. Overall, a great book!
