This is a short book written about my thoughts and struggles.This is based on my own events and thoughts, some written sober and some written when I was drunk on the idea that you will someday return to me. I never wanted this to be admired or seen as beautiful, this is me writing about my own thoughts on all of the ways you broke me, and my efforts on trying to put myself back together. We must never forget that words are the only things we have and without words we would not have the things we crave today, and sometimes I wish I didn't know the words that I use to describe the millions of ways i miss you. Some of the things written are portrayed through another’s eyes and some are accounts of different people. I wrote this because someday I want to look back and think to myself I have changed.

By Gerrad O'Brien I just ordered the book but I already know this is going to be money well spent. I've read most of his stuff before and now that he's spent a whole year making this project, I have no doubt this will be a truly great read. There's something real in the writings and the subject is relatable to everyone that's ever loved someone. For those of us that don't know what that's like, we can get a peek at it in a raw and explicit form. I'm really looking forward to reading this polished piece of work and the best part of it all, he's someone I'm blessed to call a friend.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Something quick, and something fresh By Schattenjager There are many great lines of poetry in this book. Although short lived, it was a nice read. There are some very deep thoughts that one can only assume come from his personal experience, but it was all done without getting all of the details. I would say this is a collage of poetry blended together in an interesting fashion. Almost like journal entries written down over time. What begins as a broken relationship, turns to weighted feelings and struggles to put the pieces of himself back together. As the writing presses forward it would seem that once he has reassembled himself, he has found he is stronger than he knew he could be.I see these sets of poems and internal thoughts as horoscope-esque. Although generic, many people can apply themselves to the narrative. At some point in anyone's life if they have tasted love, they will remember the feelings as if they were fresh again. Great work by a young author, if he goes on to write a full length novel, I have a feeling that if written in prose like what he has given a glimpse of in Coldest of Colors, it could be something very memorable.
