Fly Fishing is an angling method in which an artificial Fly is used to catch fish. The fly is cast using a fly rod, reel, and specialized weighted line. Casting a nearly weightless fly or "lure" requires casting techniques significantly different from other forms of casting. Fly fishermen use hand tied flies that resemble natural invertebrates, other food organisms, or lures to provoke the fish to bite at the lure. Fly fishing can be done in fresh or salt water. North Americans usually distinguish freshwater fishing between cold-water species (such as trout, salmon, steelhead) and warm-water species, notably bass. In Britain, where natural water temperatures vary less, the distinction is between game fishing for trout and salmon versus coarse fishing for other species. Techniques for fly fishing differ with habitat (lakes, ponds, etc). Learning how to become a great fly fisherman can be difficult, and people struggle for years to to pick up the basics. With this book you will learn proven methods that have helped others just like you, and many more, to learn how to become great at fly fishing in a very short period of time. Same thing is needed for fly fishing, however, it uses artificial flies to attract fish instead of worms. According to this book, since the fly is lighter than using baits like worms or lures, the right way of casting must be learned and practiced. This ultimate guide gave techniques on how to cast a line properly into the water. Casting is one motion, I think is quite difficult to master right away. I have experienced fishing a few years back using a bait and I kind of struggled with casting the line neatly, I was thinking since the fly is lighter it might be a lot more difficult to do casting in fly fishing. This book explained the right motion and techniques of casting, I was able to understand it right away. I know I will not be able to perfect my casting just by reading this but having the idea on how to do it the right way is a lot of help. Aside from casting, which obviously was my favorite topic, this also covered other basics of fly fishing like choosing the right gear, different types of knots, best place to fly fish and a lot more. One thing, I did not like about this book is the format, there were no enough spacing for each paragraphs so it made it kind of uneasy to the eyes; but other than that, the content is great, all of the information were very helpful and because of that I will still give it 5 stars.Very informative! This book is truly an ultimate guide for beginners like me.

Fly fishing is something that has a very long history, it dates back in Roman times, but unfortunaltely there isn't much about it known, as there aren't many written records about it.Fly fishing is an art form that requires an intimate knowledge of fish spieces, their environment, their foods..therefore it is challenging and never ending learning experience. Fly fishing differs from other forms of fishing. It is in fact sport that is open to all anglers of income and all ages as well as all fish spieces.Like all types of fishing, fly fishing requires the fly angler to have a cetain gear thet include fly rod, a fly reel, a fly line, a fly leader, and a collection of flies. There is a chapter about understanding the trout and its environment, the three types of trout lies, the different types of trout flies, how to approach trout lies..Very detailed guide on fly fishing! One should get ready, after going through this book, to try fly fishing.

By John Snowy Many anglers out there prefer to catch and keep their fish. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, those that choose to catch and release their fish are the ones that need to know a few simple tips on how to safely handle fish in order to ensure that fish’s survival when they swim off into the depths. This book will give you five simple tips you can take with you to the river or lake next time to help those fish last another day and help keep them around for your kids, grandkids, or any other angler out there to be able to enjoy. This is a well written book for all fly fishers. Nobody will find it boring. Even the most advanced fly fishing enthusiasts will benefit from this book. I have been fly fishing for three years now and have re-read this book before each season. It makes more and more sense each time I read it as I can relate my experiences each year back to what is in the book.
