When Honey Perribow traded in her cowboy boots for stilettos and left her small Kentucky town to attend Columbia University, she never expected to find a dirt-cheap apartment or two new best friends. No stranger to hard work, Honey is completely focused on her medical degree … until she sees newly minted professor Ben Dawson, and her concentration is hijacked. Honey is fascinated by her gorgeous young English professor and vows to find a crack in his tweed-wearing, glasses-clad exterior.

At an off-campus party, an accident lands Ben in a dark, locked closet with a sexy-sounding Southern belle … and their chemistry is explosive. But when he discovers that the girl in his arms is the same beautiful student he can't stop thinking about, he is stunned. Student-teacher relationships are strictly forbidden … yet no matter how hard he tries, Ben can't stay away from Honey.

And when his attempt to fight their attraction nearly ruins the best thing that ever happened to him, Ben will do anything to prove how much he needs her.

Need Me: A Broke and Beautiful Novel, by Tessa Bailey

Review “Bailey puts a fun, super-sexy spin on the classic “hot for teacher” trope [...] The love scenes in Need Me are practically incendiary, and the author’s sharp sense of humor provides a refreshing change from the usual heavy dose of dark angst that characterizes many other NA romances.” (Booklist)“Tessa Bailey has fast become one of my favorite authors!” (Monica Murphy, New York Times bestselling author)“I loved every character, and I’m dying to see what Tessa Bailey comes up with next!” (Cora Carmack, New York Times bestselling author)“a laugh-out-loud raunchy romantic comedy.” (Heroes & Heartbreakers)“Louis and Roxy are a terrific match from the start. But Bailey is a master at portraying a heroine with a complex core, and Roxy’s proud character carries the novel— making readers wish she was their roommate, empty bank account be damned.” (Washington Post (April's Best Romance Column))“I can’t remember the last time I read a romance as funny as this one. Roxy is one of the most hardworking heroine’s in contemporary romance and she’s so incredibly dedicated to making ends meet. The book, for me, truly embodies what modern romance is all about. ” (BookRiot (Best Books of March 2015))

This book is chock full of corny moments that would make even the most forgiving reader cringe.Need Me is about a young college girl named Honey who is obsessed with her sexy as sin, young English professor, but alas he doesn't even notice her, because she's just a face among hundreds in his classroom. Ben doesn't notice Honey as a person, but the moment he reads her written papers, he's in lurve. Her writing is like crack to him, she's just that gifted, and he can't help but look among the crowd of his students and wonder which one is Honey...First of all...Honey? It was extremely difficult to get over the name. I cringed ever time I read it. It made me think of the girl as a ditsy, dumb blonde stripper...and unfortunately, Tessa Bailey kind of wrote her character like that. Honey just had absolutely no class. She comes off as a whiny, slutty child with no care for the consequences of what her actions could bring, and Ben as a serious professor is a joke. The student/teacher premise was nearly non-existent, and only used to give off the illusion of some sort of plot device for this book, when really, it plays like a bad porno.Ben didn't have any real morals when it came to resisting his sexy, tempting student. He tried to act stuffy and standoffish, but it didn't take long for him to crack under pressure. In fact, all it took was less than two minutes locked in a closet together. Overall it's a lukewarm story surrounding the never ending amount of sex that takes up so much residence in this standalone novel. For a picky romance bibliophile, Need Me has a very elementary reading level feel to it. The characters act juvenile, and not once did I feel any honest passion or true feelings from Honey or Ben. It was just scorching lust. As the 2nd novel in the Broken and Beautiful series, there was nothing broken nor beautiful about the relationship, characters, or writing. I didn't get the feel that their attraction and love was forbidden. I was told that it was, but I didn't believe or feel it.Of course that's just my opinion. I think this book would be perfect for someone looking to get their rocks off quickly. It doesn't take many pages to get to the "good stuff," and I know we all have different interpretations of what we qualify as good. I prefer meat to my love story, an actual story with actual conflict, and not the kind that's contrived. Some readers like to get to the boning without waddling through captivating prose and character building. Need Me is perfect for those enthusiasts, and hey, more power to you. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

He ran hot and cold and the way he treated the h I found distasteful. I'm not expecting a perfect H or h, but there is a line and he crossed it.I can see her forgiving him for what he said to her in class and that he pretended he was with another woman, I get he had a traumatic childhood due to his father, and the H is afraid for his position. However, the third thing he did to her I found truly despicable. I understand he's not the one that sent the note, but why even write it in the first place when it could jeopardize her standing at school and her entire future? She never as much as hinted that she would get him in trouble, he's the one that kept bringing it up and in the end, he got her in trouble, even though their pursuit of each other was mutual.Don't get me wrong, I love me a good, flawed alpha, but I found this H to be a weak one, more concerned with his standing at the college than the h - until the end of the book, of course, but by then it was just too late for me.On the h, she was a sweet, strong girl, but I found she forgave him a bit to quickly each time he messed up.

In Review: Need Me (Broke & Beautiful #2) by Tessa Bailey By Kim {kimberlyfaye reads} Can we talk about just how much I love Tessa’s new Broke & Beautiful series? I mean, I love everything she writes, but Tessa writing new adult romance is a magical thing. Need Me combined two of my loves – college fiction and Tessa’s dirty talkin’, smokin’ hot men – in one wonderful little package. It was everything I wanted and more.Where it took me some time to warm up to Roxy in Chase Me, I already really liked Honey at the start. Maybe it’s the fact that I moved to the “big city” from the country just like she did, but we felt like kindred spirits in a way. She was just a real and relatable young woman. I saw a lot of myself in her, which just pulled me into the book that much more.I love all of Tessa Bailey’s men, but Ben just might be my new favorite. I love that whole smart guy, professor with the tweed jacket thing and I LOVE his dirty mouth. Rawr. But more than anything, I love that when he realized he did something wrong, he owned up to it and went all in to try to make it better. It wasn’t ever about his ego. It was about fixing things for Honey – even if it didn’t get them back together. He was willing to sacrifice his feelings for her if it meant making her happy. And that’s about the swooniest thing ever. The heat and chemistry between Honey and Ben was intense from the very beginning. In fact, he’d been thinking about her long before he knew what she even looked like – based on her writing alone. That was the first sign Ben would make a good boyfriend. (You know, book or otherwise.) It’s easy to be attracted to the gorgeous blonde, it’s another entirely to be turned on by someone’s mind without having any idea what they look like. Of course, anything between them was strictly forbidden since he was her professor. Who doesn’t love a good forbidden romance? (I totally do.) But, things are a little more complicated between them because of their supergroup of friends. Ben tries to put some distance between them, but isn’t very successful. And I’m glad, because I *adored* these two together. (Them and their super hot sexy times.)There’s some drama here, of course, but it’s not overly angsty. I love how this Broke & Beautiful series is just a little bit lighter and actual laugh out loud moments. It’s a different side to Tessa’s writing – but yet with her trademark heat, creativity and dirty talkin’ men. It’s the best of ALL worlds. There’s a great supergroup that’s building here as Louis, Roxy, Ben and Honey pair off. I can’t wait for Make Me, when Russell and Abby (hopefully) join the other two couples. Because seriously, this group is great. They all come from different places and backgrounds, but they’re all together now. I enjoy reading about the time they spend together and watching their friendships grow nearly as much as I love the romance and sexy times between each couple. So, so good.I received a copy of this book from the publisher, via Edelweiss, in exchange for an honest review.
