From the Author Excerpt. © Reprinted by permission. All rights reserved. 2015 Chapter 1 Evan Karcz woke up the same way he had almost every day for the past year and a half: with Juliet Branson's terrified sobs echoing through his dreams. Evan didn't jump out of bed and grab his Glock as he had in the early days. Nor did he have to rush to the bathroom before he lost the contents of his stomach. Now he just breathed in and out slowly, calming his pounding heart, staring up at the ceiling. He threw the covers off his body in an effort to chill down, even though it was early spring and the temperatures were still cool here in southern Maryland, near Washington, DC. Evan wiped with his arm the small amount of sweat that beaded on his forehead. He didn't lie there long. It was early, not even close to 5:00 a.m., but the possibility of going back to sleep was pretty much nonexistent. He might as well get up and start moving. He slipped on shorts and sweats and packed a gym bag with clothes for the rest of his day. He'd head in to Omega Sector Headquarters and get in a workout before work officially started. Exercise in order to exorcise, Evan thought, and smiled grimly. Anything would be better than staying in that big bed by himself with nothing surrounding him but his own guilt. Given the day ahead and all it had in store, he shouldn't be surprised that the dream had resurfaced with such vividness. Today he'd be unable to avoid seeing the subject of his troubled dreams―his ex-partner, Juliet Branson. Although avoid wasn't really accurate. Evan never tried to avoid seeing Juliet; the opposite, in fact. He'd been trying to talk to her for eighteen months, with no real success. Today, Juliet would be unable to avoid seeing him. Evan drove to Omega Headquarters, thankful that the early hour at least helped shorten the notoriously ugly commute. He pulled into the secure parking garage of the nondescript building that housed Omega Sector--a covert interagency task force made up of the best personnel the country had to offer. Evan had worked here for eight years, ever since his recruitment out of the FBI when he was twenty-seven. The heaviness from this morning's dream lingered as he walked through the doors of Omega's main building. Strange how these halls had once thrilled him, how he had loved everything about his job as an undercover agent. But since Juliet's...incident he couldn't seem to find the same passion for the work that he'd once had. Passionate or not, he was going back under. And he wasn't looking forward to the team meeting that would take place later today, when Juliet would learn the details of the assignment. Evan rubbed a hand over his face. He knew Bob Sinclair, his undercover persona, was a name Juliet would never want to hear again. Nobody blamed her for that. Omega Headquarters stood largely empty at this hour except for the security personnel. Evan passed through the extensive checks to confirm his identity, then jogged down the stairs into the large gym area. State-of-the-art workout equipment stood side by side with old-school metal weights, a fitting metaphor for Omega: the best blend of new and old techniques, working in unison. There were also rooms for sparring, for yoga, and a full-size track for running. Evan left his gym bag in the locker room and walked into the main workout area. Sparring definitely topped the agenda for this morning. Evan decided he might as well take his aggression out on the almost-human plastic dummies and leather punching bags, since the individuals he really wanted to take his aggression out on were well beyond his reach. He grabbed a pair of gloves meant to save his knuckles from the worst of the damage, and was reaching for the doorknob of the sparring room when he heard noises from someone already in there. Who the hell would be up and going at this hour? Evan let the door shut and walked around the corner so he could see through the small window of the room. Juliet Branson... Evidently he hadn't been the only one with nightmares this morning.

The author, whose characters were introduced in the previous 2 books , captures a believable personaly for them both. It's been mentioned in the past 2 books that Juliet stopped undercover field work due to an attack. While undercover 18 months ago, she was abducted, beaten and raped. A year and a half later, her fears and how she's dealing with everything privately are excellently written. She's also getting emails from a stalker (her alias Lisa Sinclair) with details of her attack. Her not sharing them with Evan and her brothers is believable. She feels she's a coward and would never be able to be a good field agent again. Her brothers are all overprotective of her and would be fine if she remained on desk duty. Evan Karcz however, has been in love with her (though never expressed it) for years. He has guilt from her attack as well. They were undercover as a married couple and he couldn't protect her. He has faith in her that not only her brothers don't, but she doesn't have in herself. When her boss sends Evan on an undercover mission as Bob Sinclair, Juliet announces she will not become Lisa Sinclair. While her brothers are sent off to assist with a bomb threat and Juliet discovers Evan/Bob is in danger, she knows she has to help. Unable to communicate with him with his cell phone, she sets out to stop the danger. She does take care of the threat, but due to her curiosity, finds herself walking into "Bob's" weapons buy-guns pointing at him. Evan is surprised at Juliet's/Lisa's surprise appearance, but readily admits it saved his life. The weapons dealer won't deal with Bob unless his wife is part of the deal. Juliet knows if she doesn't go back in the field, countless people will die. The mission will be a failure.Lisa doesn't like anyone to touch her. Her brother Cameron, in a funny part of the book, demonstrates it. Though, as Evan states, "she just showed you she can kick your ass." Evan trusts her. But, as husband and wife, she has to get used to his touch. As they spend a few days preparing for their mission, Evan purposely gets in her space. She has to get used to him being there. During this time together, Juliet opens up to Evan about the stalking emails Lisa has been receiving. Evan is angry at first that she didn't share it with him or her brothers. But, he promises to be there for her and their first item of business after the mission is to find out who and take care of the threat. As Juliet's confidence grows (thanks to Evan's constant encouragement), she shares with him how the attack affected her. Evan begins to question if Juliet truly is ready after seeing the condition of her house, but her opening up to him is promising. He had no idea how horrible the attack affected her. He helps her through it.Their mission has unexpected changes along the way, but as Evan knew, Juliet kept it together. They accomplished their mission of purchasing codes and keeping them out of the hands of the terrorists. However, danger krept in.Dylan Branson is more involved in this book (yep, his story is next), but I found his abilities within the book inaccurate. If Cameron and Sawyer couldn't be involved due to their injuries following their missions, Dylan definitely shouldn't have been able. Yet, (spoiler alert) he's perfectly healthy and physically able to do what his brothers cannot."Lisa's" stalker I predicted right away. Catching him took all of Juliet's courage and help from Evan and 2 of her brothers. This is definitely my favorite of the series (so far). the characters were believable.

I've been a fan since her debut book, Primal Instinct. Untraceable is book 3 in this fantastic series. We met Evan and Juliet in the previous 2 books (Infiltration and Countermeasures, Cameron and Sawyer's stories respectively) and know that Juliet was a field agent with Evan until something went wrong. Oh man, did something seriously go wrong. My heart broke for Juliet and what she went through, what she's still struggling with because of it. Evan is also struggling with his own guilt and pain because of what happened to Juliet. Evan wasn't there to protect her and he'd give anything to change what happened. There's also the added complication that you can tell these two have had feelings for each other for awhile. Juliet is a strong woman in so many ways, yet, she's also terrified and vulnerable in others. The balance of her two sides was beautifully done. Evan wanted to keep her safe, but he also seems to know her better than anyone else, even her brothers. Evan knows she can do anything she puts her mind to and shouldn't doubt herself or her abilities. Evan knows she's stronger than she thinks she is. I love that we were able to see that Juliet come back, the highly skilled field agent. Yes, she still had some moments where the fear and memories snuck through, but that's understandable with what she endured. I'm so happy that Evan and Juliet got the HEA they were waiting so long for. While I'm sad to see this part of the series end when book 4 comes out, I'm also really anxious to read Dylan's story. I'm overjoyed that there's a spinoff planned from these books and hope we're able to see these characters from time to time. I'd love to get a glimpse of their futures as they start their lives together. I highly recommend this series. Honestly, I recommend anything this author writes. You'll thank me for it. I'm not big on chocolate, but I do like Amazon gift cards as thank you gifts. LOL So go forth and check out this author. You'll be so thankful you did.

Though this is the third in her Omega Sector series, it is a complete story on it's own....but I think you will want to read the previous two books once you read this one. Loved it.The Omega Sector hires the best of the best, and their agents are use to going undercover into the worst of situations to save the world. This time is different. When they discover the bad guys have access to government drone override codes and plan to sell them to the highest bidder, Evan is ready to become his alter ego, Bob Sinclair to snatch the codes back. But there's a catch...the bad guy only trust him if his fake wife Lisa, undercover agent Juliet, is part of the deal. No wife...no deal. Normally that wouldn't be a problem. Evan and Juliet had worked together before and were a great team.....but things changed when Juliet was attached on the last assignment and now both are haunted by guilt and the reality of how close she had come to death. Plus the simple touch of a man makes Juliet tremble in fear and only Evan has confidence that Juliet can handle the mission. But Juliet is keeping a secret that may get them both killed. This book kept me up late into the night reading to the end. Loved the interaction of the hero and heroine as they fought to save the world and just maybe each other in the process. Full of surprises around every corner, this is a definite "must read". Looking forward to the next book in the series,, "LEVERAGE"....coming out in June.
