I wanted it to be longer but I enjoyed what was in here.I received this book for free from the Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.After a long battle with depression I was able to take control, for the most part. There are some days where it is really hard though. That’s where this book comes in handy! Jennifer talks about how to take control of those negative thoughts and really get them out so you can start de-stressing! So many people today stress, stress, stress! This book is how to get that stress under control! “Stress can be reduced when one has a sense of control, an outlet, or emotional support.”It is amazing what a few short words of encouragement, to yourself, can do. I started a new job today and practiced her idea of saying “I’m excited” instead of “I’m anxious”. Every time I started feeling like I was going to the other side I would say to myself once again that I am excited! And I was, even though new jobs bring jitters.I also really enjoyed some of her tips, like: Don’t force yourself to exercise – when forcing yourself, you will lose the enjoyment of the experience and just stress yourself out! Make friends Eliminate or minimize distractions (internal and external!) Find the sweet spot to your anxiety!These do not sound difficult, really, but in practice they can be hard for someone that has never done them. Jennifer helps take these in chunks so they are easy to understand and even easier to implement!I’m most excited about the visualization process. I already do this but have not worked to do it daily. I’m teaching my hubby and cannot wait to see the results!In short: This was a short, but really good book, chock full of information about training yourself for less stress. A lot of the ideas I have already known about and love, now to keep putting them into practice.

Extensively researched but requires juggling of the contents - an excellent conclusion but a weak beginning By Kenna McKinnon The Bonus Chapter, Conclusion, and Book Description at the end makes this ebook worthwhile. The content needs editing and is longer than it needs to be given the subject matter. If "The Mind Decluttering Project..." had started with the conclusion, with bullets, and the "Cheat Sheet" it would have made much more sense. There is an extensive Bibliography and many references to experiments and hypotheses, many of which are dated now. I found the meat of the book to be turned upside down and the best part at the end, the long introductory chapters reading like a psychology term paper.However, April has extensively researched her subject. She obviously has thought it through, as the Conclusion and "Cheat Sheet" shows. She is an intelligent author but "The Mind Decluttering Project..." doesn't compete well with other books of the same genre. With some juggling of the contents, more clarity, a more powerful presentation, and judicious use of the "delete" button, this would be a much stronger work.I give it 4 stars because I found in its pages an intelligent yet overly wordy response to a yearning which is almost endemic in today's society, that of transforming one's life by simplifying the noise of post-modern stress, busyness, and lack of stillness. I did find the use of the adjective "hilarious" questionable in regard to shocks given to rats.
